Want a Date? Take Your Dog!

The Romantic Benefits of Dogs!

Are you tired of being single? Dogs are great for making love connections. Forget Internet matchmaking – a dog is a natural conversation starter, and people with dogs are more likely to get out and about.

Own a dog and you’re likely to meet other people like you, people who also own or love dogs. You will meet them at places like the vet, the park, the groomers and anywhere else you are likely to take your dog.

People out walking their dog are more likely to make eye contact and make themselves more approachable. Not to mention having a dog is a great conversation starter. If you’re talking about dogs: your dog, their dog, dogs in general, with this person, you already know you have something in common.

Niche Dating Sites Have Gone To The Dogs!

Now, if you are up for something REALLY fun, then try out one or two online dating sites – just for dog lovers! Some directly involve your pet on the “date”, others just give you something in common to talk about.

One of the most popular online dating sites for dog owners is: DateMyPet.com.

Many single dog owners have found friends (and ultimately, spouses!) thanks to this website that pairs you up with someone who owns the same type of pet that you do and who resides in your own area.

DateMyPet.com is the leading online dating website created exclusively for pet lovers. Whether you are looking for a life partner, a buddy for your pet or just someone to hang out with, here you’ll be able to find exactly who you are looking for – pet lovers like yourself. It’s fun, interactive, safe and anonymous – until you decide to take it further.

How it works:

You can choose “a date for your pet” – which simply means that you’re primarily looking for a playmate for your dog, and you (and the other pet owner) will just be going along as an innocent bystander and facilitator for the two dogs’ first meeting.

This is the preferred method for those who are simply interested in making friends with other dog owners, and/or helping your dog make friends in the area. It’s also a viable dating option for those who want to take things slow… by establishing a true friendship first.

OR…

You can choose “a date for me” — which means that you’re clearly interested in going out on dates with someone who has a pet like yours.

This is for the more adventurous types or those who are interested in dating lots of people… just for the fun of it. One thing’s for sure, you’ll both have something in common. That is, your pets!

Haha, our son totally missed this opportunity twice, when Jasmine and J.D. were puppies. Only once he took J.D. for a walk and came back saying “Wow, that is like a chick magnet!”

His loss, they are both grown up now and though lovely dogs not such a magnet power any more :-)

I live in Chico and dogs, whether adult or not still seem to be magnets. But then there are always several people out in the park running, bike riding, and out with their dogs. Sadie is under the impression that everyone loves her and therefore wants to pet her. She will run up to anyone coming our way with a full-body tail-wag in order to get petted unless I stop her. Still nothing beats a puppy for getting attention from strangers.
